FAQS

Just fill in the form at the end of the page where the trip has been posted. Tell us about how many people you are, what kind of room you want, date, etc. If you are looking for a tailored version of this trip, tell us the dates that best suit you, the changes you would like to do on the tour, how many you are, etc. We will contact you shortly.
You can also send a whatsapp or SMS to +34 676121598

If none of the trips posted on the web site suits you, we can create a tour tailored for you or the group you lead. Just fill in the contact form. Tell us about how many you are, what are you looking for, where, budget and dates. You will receive our proposal in less than a week.

Once we have discussed your tour and checked availability, and the details of your trip have been agreed, we will make a provisional booking, giving the dates and cost.
To confirm your booking we ask you to pay a deposit.

You can pay the deposit via bank transfer – we’ll email you the account number. We suggest using transferwise.com. If you prefer to use your own bank, please tell the bank when you’re making the transfer that you will take care of all the fees.

The balance is due 4 weeks before departure and we will contact you at that time. If you book less than 4 weeks before departure, full payment must be made on booking. You can pay the balance with another bank transfer.

We will contact you five weeks before the start of the tour to let you know how many places have been reserved.  If this falls below the tour minimum TrekPyrenees will offer all participants a new price.  If all accept, the tour will proceed. Otherwise, you will receive a full refund.

You, or any member of your party, may cancel your trip at any time providing that the cancellation is made by the lead name in emailing immediately to info@trekpyrenees.com. Notice of cancellation will be effective upon receipt of your email. As we start to incur costs from the time the contract is confirmed we will make a cancellation charge dependent on when we receive your cancellation as shown on the scale below.

We provide a variety of different styles of overnight stay. Accommodation is always all-inclusive and can be a hotel, country hotel, village guesthouses or a mountain hut. We always try to use the most comfortable places run by local families.
Double, twin and individual en-suite rooms are always available, except in mountain huts. We use mountain huts where there is no alternative accommodation. That’s the case for the trek which crosses the Aigüestortes National Park.
For bespoke trips, the accommodation will depend on your budget and wishes.

We have spent a lot of time finding accommodation that can offer great local great food. The meals include wine, water, first course, main course and dessert. However, you have to pay for other drinks (beer, coke,…) and coffee or tea.
Our cuisine is based on local products and often the owners use ingredients they have picked up from their own vegetable gardens, or those of their village neighbours.
Vegetarians are welcome. The inns we have chosen can offer delicious veggie courses, and vegetarian packed lunches.
Packed lunches do not include drinks because the water bottle everybody carries can be filled up with tap water. This water, as well as the water from most of the springs along the way, is good quality.

We can cater for vegetarians, vegans and other dietary requirements but require at least 7 days prior notice. Please notify us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

We have three grades:

– Easy: you need to be comfortable with an ascent of 400m and be able to walk for up 4 hours
– Moderate: elevation gain below 800m and duration longer than 4 hours, but less than 7.
– Challenging: elevation gain higher than 900m and duration longer than 7 hours.

The durations above include breaks.

We publish the level of all the tours. Nevertheless, we like to discuss with each client after the first contact, to check fitness level will suit what is required.
We also take into account factors like the terrain, altitude and likely weather conditions.

Our holidays are active and customers should have the appropriate level of fitness to complete the itinerary of their chosen trip. Anyone suffering from mobility impairment, illness or disability or undergoing treatment for any physical or medical condition must declare the true nature of such condition at the time of booking and make arrangements for the provision of any medication or other treatment which may be required during the trip.

For your own safety, please advise us at the time of booking of any condition, medical or otherwise, that might affect your or other people’s enjoyment of the trip.

If there’s not much difference between your fitness level and that of the group, the guide will be able to successfully manage the hikes.

But if there’s a big difference and the other members of the group have to stop continually to wait for you, we will need to work out a way for everyone to enjoy the tour.

If the tour is based on a particular point — for instance, a village — the guide will suggest a walk suitable for your level. The walks will start from where we are based. They will not be guided, so they will be easy to follow.

If the tour is a trek, where we move every day to new accommodation, the guide will call a taxi that will take you to the end point of the trek. You will take care of the cost of this transfer.

Before you pay for the trip, it’s important to work out whether your fitness level is suitable for successfully managing all the hikes. The guide will help with all your queries by email or whatsapp.

Children under about 12 years will usually find it difficult to maintain the interest and stamina necessary for a trek. But we analyse every request, so depending on the kind of trip and other factors, children may come along.

That depends on the area and the season. This is part of the information we will send you after booking but before first payment.

If you have a Facebook account, you can contact those who have reviewed us in Facebook Reviews.
If you do not have a Facebook account, give us your email address and we will pass on, though we can’t guarantee they will contact you.

That’s always specified in the description of the tour. Usually, everything is included except flights and travel insurance.

We can meet at the starting point of the trip or pick you up in Barcelona.

We will message you after booking and before the first payment.

We send you a list when you book. The equipment list will vary according to the season, likely weather conditions, the trekking terrain and whether you are staying on mountain huts or not.

The Catalan government obliges mountain guides to cover their customers for accident insurance, but it is applicable only in the wilderness.

Our accident insurance covers the participant for his/her treatment, rescue and transfer, up to 6,000 Euros. It pays 3,000 Euros in case of an accidental death and 6,000 Euros in case of disability.

While not in the wilderness you are not covered by the accident insurance, so it is essential that you buy travel insurance. When researching insurance options, please ensure the policy covers you for the following:

— Cancellation or curtailment

— Repatriation

— Medical cover

As you are booking the trip with a registered travel agency in Catalonia, you have automatically been provided with security for the money you pay for the package trip booked from us, and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. Travel agency: TrekPyrenees. Address: Passeig de les lletres, 12. 08221-Terrassa (Barcelona)

No worries. Just send us an email at info@trekpyrenees.com, fill in our contact page, or WhatsApp/message us at +34 676121598
